Ingredients
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar (optional, balances flavor)
2 large eggs
1 cup (240 ml) milk
1/3 cup (80 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
1 ½ to 2 cups grated cheese (cheddar works great)
Optional: chopped parsley, black pepper, or a pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan or line it with baking paper.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and oil/butter together.
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined (don’t overmix).
Fold in the grated cheese (and any optional add-ins).
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
Tips
Use a mix of cheeses (cheddar + mozzarella) for better melt and flavor.
If you want it extra rich, add a handful of cheese on top before baking.
Great with eggs, tea, or just butter while warm.
