🫓 Soft Cheesy Skillet Flatbread
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp oil or melted butter
~¾ cup warm milk (or water)
½–1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or any melting cheese)
Butter for brushing
Instructions
- Make the dough
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
Add oil and warm milk gradually.
Mix and knead until soft and smooth (about 5–7 minutes).
Cover and let it rest for 15–20 minutes. - Shape
Divide dough into small balls (about golf-ball size).
Roll each into a thin circle. - Add cheese (optional but recommended)
Sprinkle some cheese on one rolled piece.
Place another thin dough circle on top and seal edges lightly.
(Or just cook plain and add cheese on top later.) - Cook
Heat a pan over medium heat (no oil needed or just a little).
Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side until golden spots appear. - Finish
Brush with butter while hot.
Add extra cheese on top if you want that melted look from the photo.
Tips
For extra softness, cover cooked breads with a cloth.
You can add garlic, herbs, or even a bit of yogurt to the dough for flavor.
Works great with honey, yogurt, or savory dips.
