🥘 Slow Cooker Sausages with Onion Gravy
Ingredients
6–8 sausages (pork, beef, or your choice)
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, but adds depth)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, balances flavor)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Brown the sausages (optional but recommended):
In a pan over medium heat, sear the sausages until browned on all sides. This adds extra flavor.
Layer in the slow cooker:
Add sliced onions and garlic to the bottom
Place sausages on top
Make the sauce:
In a bowl, mix:
Beef broth
Worcestershire sauce
Dijon mustard
Brown sugar
Salt & pepper
Pour over everything.
Cook:
Low: 6–7 hours
High: 3–4 hours
Thicken the gravy:
Mix cornstarch with water
Stir into the slow cooker during the last 20–30 minutes
Serve:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
