🍖 Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs
🧂 Ingredients
1 rack baby back ribs (about 1–1.5 kg)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chili powder (optional for heat)
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
🔪 Instructions
- Prep the ribs
Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (this makes them more tender).
Pat ribs dry with paper towels. - Season
In a bowl, mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and brown sugar.
Rub olive oil over the ribs, then coat evenly with the spice mix. - Bake low and slow
Wrap ribs tightly in foil and place on a baking tray.
Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender. - Add BBQ sauce
Remove ribs from oven and unwrap carefully.
Brush generously with BBQ sauce. - Finish (caramelize)
Increase oven to 220°C (425°F) or use grill/broiler.
Cook uncovered for 10–15 minutes until the sauce is sticky and slightly charred.
🍽️ Tips
Let ribs rest for 5–10 minutes before cutting.
Serve with fries, coleslaw, or bread.
For extra smoky flavor, add a little smoked paprika or a drop of liquid smoke.
