Homemade Soft Dinner Rolls
These fluffy buttery rolls really are bakery-level — especially warm with fresh butter melting into them.
Ingredients
3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
For Brushing
2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make the dough
Add melted butter, egg, and salt.
Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
If sticky, add a little more flour.
First rise
Place dough in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.
Shape rolls
Divide into 12 equal pieces and roll into balls.
Place in a greased baking dish.
Second rise
Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.
Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
Finish
Brush tops generously with melted butter while warm.
