Creamy Potato Casserole Bake
A rich, cozy potato casserole with a creamy pour-over sauce that bakes into pure comfort food.
Ingredients
2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
Optional: chopped bacon, green onions, or parsley for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a glass casserole dish.
Layer the sliced potatoes and onions evenly in the dish.
In a bowl, whisk together:
cream soup
sour cream
milk
garlic
melted butter
salt
pepper
paprika
Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the potatoes.
Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
Remove foil, sprinkle cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
