Crispy Cheese Puff Pastry Bites
Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
200 g cream cheese (or soft cheese)
100 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar
1 egg (for filling)
1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
1–2 tbsp sugar (optional, if making sweet version)
1 tsp vanilla (optional, sweet version)
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare filling Mix:
Cream cheese
Shredded cheese
1 egg
Pinch of salt
(Optional sweet version: add sugar + vanilla.) - Cut pastry Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into squares (about 8–10 cm each).
- Fill Place 1 spoonful of filling in the center of each square.
- Fold Bring the 4 corners up to the center and pinch tightly to seal (like the ones in the photo).
- Brush Brush tops with egg yolk + milk for that golden shiny finish.
- Bake Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 18–22 minutes, until puffed and deep golden brown.
- Serve Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if making sweet ones.
