4-Ingredient Melt-in-Your-Mouth Dinner
This easy foil-style slow baked dinner is perfect for busy nights and holiday weekends. Tender beef, rich gravy, and buttery potatoes cook together into pure comfort food.
Ingredients
2 lbs beef chuck roast or stew meat
1 packet onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1½ lbs baby potatoes or sliced potatoes
Optional
2 tbsp butter
Carrots or onions for extra flavor
Instructions
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Place the potatoes in the bottom of a large baking dish or roasting pan.
Put the beef on top of the potatoes.
In a bowl, mix:
onion soup mix
cream of mushroom soup
Spread the mixture over the beef. Add butter on top if using.
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 3½–4 hours until the meat is fork-tender and practically falls apart.
Slow Cooker Version
Add everything to the slow cooker.
Cook:
Low: 8 hours
High: 5–6 hours
