Melt-in-Your-Mouth Vanilla Cake Bars
Ingredients
For the bars
1 cup (225 g) butter, softened
1½ cups sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup milk
For the glaze
1½ cups powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk. Mix until smooth.
Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool slightly.
Mix glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm bars.
Slice and serve.
Tips
Double the batch for parties or potlucks — these disappear fast.
Add lemon zest or almond extract for a flavor twist.
Store covered for 3–4 days; they stay very soft.
