Pork Wonton Soup Recipe
Ingredients
For the wontons
250 g (½ lb) ground pork
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 tsp grated ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
30 wonton wrappers
For the soup
6 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 small piece ginger
Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions

  1. Make the filling
    In a bowl, mix:
    ground pork
    green onions
    ginger
    garlic
    soy sauce
    sesame oil
    salt and pepper
    Mix until well combined.
  2. Fold the wontons
    Place 1 teaspoon filling in the center of each wrapper.
    Wet the edges with water.
    Fold into a triangle or bring corners together to make a pouch shape.
  3. Prepare the broth
    In a pot, combine:
    chicken broth
    soy sauce
    sesame oil
    garlic
    ginger
    Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Cook the wontons
    Drop wontons into the simmering broth. Cook 4–5 minutes, until they float and the pork is fully cooked.
  5. Serve
    Ladle into bowls and top with chopped green onions.
