Pork Wonton Soup Recipe
Ingredients
For the wontons
250 g (½ lb) ground pork
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 tsp grated ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
30 wonton wrappers
For the soup
6 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 small piece ginger
Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Make the filling
In a bowl, mix:
ground pork
green onions
ginger
garlic
soy sauce
sesame oil
salt and pepper
Mix until well combined. - Fold the wontons
Place 1 teaspoon filling in the center of each wrapper.
Wet the edges with water.
Fold into a triangle or bring corners together to make a pouch shape. - Prepare the broth
In a pot, combine:
chicken broth
soy sauce
sesame oil
garlic
ginger
Simmer for about 10 minutes. - Cook the wontons
Drop wontons into the simmering broth. Cook 4–5 minutes, until they float and the pork is fully cooked. - Serve
Ladle into bowls and top with chopped green onions.
