For the crust:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup cold butter (cut into cubes)

5–7 tbsp cold water
For the filling:
5–6 apples (peeled, sliced) 🍎

2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Make the dough
    In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt
    Add cold butter and rub it in until crumbly
    Add cold water gradually until dough forms
    Divide into 2 parts, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes
  2. Prepare the filling
    In a large bowl, mix apples with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, vanilla, and flour
    Toss well so everything is coated
  3. Assemble the pie
    Roll out one dough and place it in a pie dish
    Add the apple filling
    Roll out the second dough and cover the top (or make a lattice design)
    Seal edges and cut small slits on top
  4. Bake
    Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
    Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden and bubbling
