Garbage Bread (Cheesy Stuffed Bread)
This fun comfort-food recipe is called “Garbage Bread” because you can toss in all your favorite fillings—but it tastes amazing!
Ingredients
1 tube refrigerated pizza dough
1/2 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
1/2 small onion, diced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (optional)
1/2 cup pepperoni slices (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook ground beef (or sausage) with diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Roll out pizza dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet into a large rectangle.
Spread the meat mixture down the center of the dough.
Top with mozzarella, cheddar, bacon bits, and pepperoni if using.
Fold the sides of the dough over the filling, pinching edges closed to seal like a loaf.
Place seam-side down.
Brush top with beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
Optional Dipping Sauce
Serve with warm marinara sauce or ranch dressing for extra flavor.
