Homemade Deli Chicken Meat
Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp plain yogurt or mayonnaise (for tenderness)
1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
Prepare the chicken
Pat chicken breasts dry and lightly flatten them for even cooking.
Make the marinade
In a bowl, mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, olive oil, yogurt (or mayo), and lemon juice.
Coat the chicken
Rub the mixture all over the chicken. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is even better).
Bake
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
Place chicken in a baking dish and bake for 25–30 minutes until fully cooked.
Cool and slice
Let it cool completely, then slice very thinly like sandwich meat.
Serve
Use in sandwiches, wraps, salads, or with rice and vegetables.
Much fresher and often cheaper than supermarket deli meat!
