Homemade Wonton Soup
Ingredients
1 package frozen wontons (chicken, pork, or shrimp)
6 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 green onions, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
1 cup baby spinach or bok choy (optional)
1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
Add garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth and water.
Stir in soy sauce and rice vinegar if using.
Add mushrooms if using, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Carefully add frozen wontons to the simmering broth.
Cook for 4–6 minutes, or until the wontons float and are fully heated through.
Add spinach or bok choy and cook for 1 more minute.
Taste and season with salt and black pepper if needed.
Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
