Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Belly Bites
Ingredients
2 lbs pork belly, cut into thick bite-size strips or cubes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
1/4 cup chicken broth or water
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening, optional)
Chopped green onions, for garnish
Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
Lightly sear the pork belly pieces in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until golden (optional, but adds flavor).
Place pork belly into the slow cooker.
In a bowl, mix:
brown sugar
soy sauce
honey
garlic
ginger
black pepper
smoked paprika
broth
Pour the sauce over the pork belly.
Cover and cook:
LOW for 6–7 hours
or
HIGH for 3–4 hours
For a thicker glaze, remove 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid, mix with cornstarch slurry, then stir back in and cook 15 more minutes.
Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
