500โ700 g beef stew meat (raw, cubed)
1 can (about 300 g) cream of mushroom soup
1 packet onion soup mix (or 1 finely chopped onion + seasoning)
ยฝ cup sour cream (or milk/cream for a lighter version)

Preheat oven to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF).
Layer the beef
Place the raw beef stew meat evenly in a glass casserole dish.
Mix the sauce
In a bowl, combine:
Cream of mushroom soup
Onion soup mix
Sour cream
Stir until smooth.
Pour over beef
Spread the mixture evenly over the meat. No need to stir.
Cover & bake
Cover with foil and bake for 2 to 2ยฝ hours, until the beef is tender.
Optional finish
Remove foil for the last 15โ20 minutes to slightly brown the top.
