🍞 Crock Pot (Slow Cooker) Bread
🧾 Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (not hot)
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
👩🍳 Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make the dough
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour (until doubled in size).
Shape
Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf.
Prepare slow cooker
Line the crock pot with parchment paper (important to prevent sticking).
Second rise (optional but better texture)
Let the dough rest in the crock pot for 20–30 minutes.
Cook
Cover and cook on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours.
The top will stay pale, but the bread will be cooked through.
Optional crisping
If you want a golden crust, place it under a stovetop pan lid or briefly in a hot pan to toast the outside.
✅ Tips
Place a clean towel under the lid to absorb moisture (prevents soggy top).
Don’t open the lid too often—it releases heat.
Bread is done when the bottom is firm and sounds hollow when tapped.
