🥣 Simple Homemade Collagen (Bone Broth)
Ingredients:
1–1.5 kg beef bones (with joints/marrow for more collagen)
1–2 tablespoons vinegar (helps extract collagen)
Water (enough to cover bones)
Optional: salt for taste
Instructions:
Prepare bones (optional but better):
Roast bones in the oven at 200°C for 30–40 minutes for deeper flavor.
Add to pot:
Put bones in a large pot or slow cooker. Cover fully with water.
Add vinegar:
Let it sit for 20–30 minutes before heating (this helps pull collagen out).
Cook low and slow:
Stovetop: simmer gently for 12–24 hours
Slow cooker: 24 hours on low
Strain:
Remove bones and strain the liquid.
Cool:
Once cooled, it should turn slightly gel-like — that’s a sign of high collagen.
đź’ˇ How to use it:
Drink a cup daily (warm)
Use as a base for soups or sauces
⚠️ Honest tip:
Claims like “belly disappears” or “miracle collagen drinks” are exaggerated. Bone broth supports joints, skin, and overall nutrition—but it’s not magic on its own. Consistency and overall diet matter more.
