🧁 Ingredients
For the cheesecake layer:
450 g cream cheese (softened)
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Zest of 1 lemon
For the lemon cake:
2½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup butter (softened)
1½ cups sugar
3 eggs
1 cup milk
2 tbsp lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional lemon glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp lemon juice
👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Make the cheesecake layer
    Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F).
    Beat cream cheese + sugar until smooth.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Mix in vanilla + lemon zest.
    Pour into a lined round pan.
    Bake 25–30 min until set.
    Let cool completely, then chill.
  2. Make the lemon cake
    Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
    Mix flour, baking powder, salt.
    In another bowl, beat butter + sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs one by one.
    Add milk, lemon juice, zest, vanilla.
    Slowly mix in dry ingredients.
  3. Assemble the cake
    Pour half the cake batter into a greased cake pan.
    Place the cooled cheesecake layer on top.
    Cover with remaining cake batter.
    Bake 40–50 minutes until golden and cooked through.
    Let cool fully before removing.
  4. Optional glaze
    Mix powdered sugar + lemon juice and drizzle over the top.
    🍽️ Result
    Soft lemon cake on the outside, rich creamy cheesecake inside, with a bright citrus flavor in every bite.
