🍪 Anna’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
🧾 Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
½ cup (100g) white sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
2 cups (340g) chocolate chips (or chunks)
Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
👩🍳 Instructions:
Prep oven:
Preheat to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients:
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mix wet ingredients:
In another bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Mix until smooth.
Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla—whisk until creamy.
Combine:
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined (don’t overmix).
Add chocolate:
Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
Chill (important!):
Chill dough for 30–60 minutes for thicker, better cookies.
Shape & bake:
Scoop dough into balls and place on tray.
Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers still soft.
Cool:
Let cookies rest on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
🔥 Tips for PERFECT cookies:
Slightly underbake for gooey centers
Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top after baking
Use dark chocolate for deeper flavor
