Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken & Rice
A cozy one-pot slow cooker meal with tender chicken, creamy rice, and rich flavor.
Ingredients
1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
2 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk
1 packet onion soup mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon butter
Optional: 1 cup frozen peas or carrots
The “1 Mixture”
In a bowl, whisk together:
Cream of chicken soup
Chicken broth
Milk
Onion soup mix
Garlic powder
Pepper
Instructions
Spray the slow cooker lightly with oil or grease with butter.
Add the uncooked rice to the bottom.
Place chicken on top of the rice.
Pour the creamy mixture evenly over everything.
Dot with butter.
Cover and cook:
LOW for 4–5 hours, or
HIGH for 2½–3 hours
About 20 minutes before serving, stir in peas or carrots if using.
Shred or slice the chicken, stir gently, and serve warm.
Optional Add-Ins
Cheddar cheese for extra richness
Mushrooms or broccoli
Crispy fried onions on top
Serve with warm bread or a simple salad.
