4-Ingredient Foil-Pack Tender Beef Dinner
This easy old-school foil dinner turns out incredibly tender because everything steams together tightly sealed in foil.
Ingredients
1½–2 lbs beef chuck roast or stew meat
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3–4 potatoes, sliced thin
Optional
Carrots or onions
Salt & pepper
Butter pats for extra richness
Instructions
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Lay out a large double layer of heavy-duty foil in a baking dish.
Place sliced potatoes on the bottom. Add carrots or onions if using.
Put the beef on top of the vegetables.
Sprinkle onion soup mix evenly over the meat.
Spread cream of mushroom soup over everything.
Seal the foil tightly so no steam escapes.
Bake for 4–5 hours until the meat is fall-apart tender.
Carefully open the foil — hot steam will escape. Spoon the rich juices over the meat and potatoes before serving.
