Cheesy Steak Puff Pastry Pie
Ingredients
500 g (1 lb) beef steak, thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 bell pepper, diced
200 g mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Cook the filling
Heat butter and oil in a skillet.
Cook onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft.
Add garlic and steak.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
Cook until beef is browned and most liquid evaporates.
Add cheese
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Stir in most of the cheese.
Prepare pastry
Roll out puff pastry slightly.
Place filling in the center.
Fold pastry over and seal edges.
Bake
Brush with beaten egg.
Top with remaining cheese if desired.
Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 25–30 minutes until deep golden brown.
Rest & slice
Let rest 5–10 minutes before cutting so the cheese sets slightly.
