🥢 Homemade Egg Rolls Recipe
🛒 Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) ground chicken, beef, or pork
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrots
2 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
Salt & pepper to taste
12–15 egg roll wrappers
Oil for frying
👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the filling
    Heat a pan over medium heat.
    Add the ground meat and cook until browned.
    Stir in garlic, ginger, cabbage, carrots, and green onions.
    Cook for 3–5 minutes until veggies soften.
    Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
    Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Assemble the egg rolls
    Lay one wrapper in a diamond shape.
    Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling near the center.
    Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides.
    Roll tightly and seal the edge with a little water.
  3. Fry
    Heat oil in a deep pan (about 175°C / 350°F).
    Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
    Drain on paper towels.
    🥣 Optional dipping sauce:
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp honey
    1 tsp vinegar
    A pinch of chili flakes
    🔥 Tips:
    You can bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes or air fry for a lighter option.
    Add bean sprouts or mushrooms for extra texture.
    Don’t overfill or they may burst while frying.
