Honey Garlic Chicken with Mushrooms 🍗🍄
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thicker sauce)
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Season the chicken
Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Sear the chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove and set aside.
Cook mushrooms
In the same pan, add butter and sliced mushrooms.
Sauté for 4–5 minutes until soft and golden.
Make the sauce
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, and thyme. Mix well.
Return chicken to pan
Place chicken back into the skillet.
Spoon sauce over the top and simmer for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
Thicken if needed
Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce.
Simmer for 2 more minutes until glossy and thick.
Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
Tip
For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice right before serving.
