Monte Cristo Sliders

🥪 Monte Cristo Sliders
🧾 Ingredients:
12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work best)
6–8 slices deli ham
6–8 slices turkey (or chicken)
6–8 slices Swiss cheese
3 large eggs
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for classic Monte Cristo flavor)
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1–2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for dusting)
Raspberry or strawberry jam (for serving)
👨‍🍳 Instructions:
Prep the sliders:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Slice the slider buns in half (keep them connected if possible).
Place the bottom half in a greased baking dish.
Layer it up:
Add ham evenly over the buns.
Add turkey/chicken on top.
Layer Swiss cheese over the meat.
Place the top half of the buns over everything.
Make the custard mixture:
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Soak and butter:
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sliders (like French toast).
Brush melted butter on top.
Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until golden and cheese is melted.
Finish & serve:
Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.
Serve warm with raspberry or strawberry jam for dipping.
💡 Tips:
Want extra crisp? Toast the bottoms slightly before assembling.
You can add a thin layer of mustard or mayo for extra flavor.
For a sweeter twist, use brioche rolls.
