🍯 Brown Sugar Pork Chops
🛒 Ingredients
4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
3–4 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Optional: pinch of paprika or chili flakes for a little kick
👨🍳 Instructions
Season the chops
Pat pork chops dry, then season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Sear the pork chops
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter.
Sear the pork chops for about 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned.
Add the sweetness
Lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining butter and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the chops.
Caramelize
Let the butter melt and the sugar dissolve, then spoon the sauce over the chops continuously.
Cook for another 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
Finish & serve
Remove from heat once chops are fully cooked (internal temp ~63°C). Let rest a couple minutes, then serve with the caramelized glaze.
🍽️ Tips
Great with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
If you want extra sauce, add a splash of water or chicken broth while caramelizing.
Don’t burn the sugar—keep the heat moderate once it’s added.
