π« Soft Skillet Flatbread (Batbout-Style)
π§Ύ Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 cup fine semolina (optional but recommended)
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp instant yeast
1β1ΒΌ cups warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
π©βπ³ Instructions:
- Make the dough
In a bowl, mix flour, semolina, sugar, salt, and yeast
Add warm water gradually and mix
Add olive oil and knead for about 8β10 minutes until soft and smooth - Let it rise
Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour (until doubled) - Shape
Divide into small balls (golf-ball size)
Roll each into a flat round (about Β½ cm thick)
Sprinkle a little semolina to prevent sticking - Second rest
Let the rounds rest for 10β15 minutes - Cook
Heat a pan on medium heat (no oil needed)
Cook each bread for 2β3 minutes per side
It should puff slightly and get golden spots like in your picture
π₯ Tips:
Donβt cook on high heat or theyβll burn outside and stay raw inside
Press lightly with a spatula to help them puff
Keep cooked breads covered with a cloth to stay soft

Slice open and fill with chicken, tuna, or veggies
Or eat with butter, honey, or olive oil
