Bacon Pea Salad
Creamy, crunchy, salty, and slightly sweet — this classic pea salad is perfect for BBQs, potlucks, or an easy side dish.
Ingredients
4 cups frozen peas, thawed and drained
8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed or shredded
1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional Add-Ins
Chopped boiled eggs
Sunflower seeds
Diced ham
Fresh dill
Ranch seasoning
Instructions
Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble and let cool.
In a large bowl, combine peas, bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion, and celery.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Pour dressing over the salad and toss gently until coated.
Chill for at least 1 hour before serving for best flavor.
Tips
Use frozen peas, not canned — they stay sweeter and firmer.
Add the bacon just before serving if you want it extra crunchy.
This tastes even better the next day.
